PST: Kemara ecstatic about Sporting's win

It was almost Best vs. Best from East and West. No matter, though, this was a still a good one.

Sporting Kansas City, the class of the Eastern Conference before a May dip, held off San Jose?s late charge in the heartland Sunday afternoon. The surprising Earthquakes are currently second in the Western Conference (and could have climbed over Real Salt Lake with a win Sunday at Livestrong Sporting Park.)

But Kei Kamara was the difference. He was all over the park on offense and defense as Sporting Kansas City snapped a four-game winless skid with the 2-1 victory.

Kamara?s early cross, hit decisively and accurately in behind the San Jose defense, set up C.J. Sapong for a lead in the opening minutes. Later, Kamara raced in aggressively to get ahead of too-passive Earthquakes defender Ramiro Corrales, heading in the eventual game-winner.

Here are the highlights from NBC Sports Network:

And here is Kamara afterward, speaking on the game and on his time ahead with Sierra Leone?s national team.
