Major retailers such as Costco Wholesale Corportion (NASDAQ:COST), Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT), and Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) seem to have dodged an expensive Dodd-Frank requirement that would have mandated them to closely oversee the sources of the minerals that were contained in their products, in case they are linked to violence in Africa. (NSANY.OB) might use a new line of cars under the Datsun brand to extend its push into Africa, a move that would provide a higher-quality choice over vehicles sold there made in India and China. Presently, Nissan builds approximately 90,000 cars in Africa, for the most part in South Africa.
